Real California Deri
  • I'm not a very expressive person. I prefer math over poetry and dogs over people. I can't draw, paint or sew (yet). That's all the more reason why I should cling to what does inspire me. So this is me doing that, and hoping someone else will enjoy it along the way. //

The Reading Chair
I got this bad boy at an estate sale for thirty-five bucks!  I absolutely love it, but for now it sits smack dab in the middle of my room until I figure out where to put it.  The books I picked up over time before getting the chair, but they seemed like a match made in heaven.

Glamour Girls
These remind me of the pictures you see on the walls at a beauty school where the girls get all glammed up and have portraits done. I wish I knew the story behind them, but it seems like they must have known each other at least.

Someday I will just buy up this whole table and make all sorts of pudding in those lovely lovely Pyrex bowls. For now.. I just drool and take pictures. :)
Out of curiosity, I googled Pyrex and found a great site for identifying patterns and just generally admiring various pieces. Also found out that even modern Pyrex is manufactured in the U.S. Thought that was pretty cool considering the pressures nowdays to do otherwise. Don’t get me wrong I understand the value of global trade and why companies do it, but it’s just nice to see stuff that’s made here every now and then.

Books
Books make me smile. That’s all there is to it. Nowdays there’s something so whimsically inefficient about them that I just love.

All I can think about with this statue is how sad this little girl looks and why someone would put that in their yard. To each his own I guess.
